I have just completed version 1.0 of Vic Water iPhone app. It has not been released to the public yet but a release will not be far off.

Vic Water iPhone app is an application that helps enable all Victorians save water by providing them with handy tools and information related to water saving.

Here is a video introducing Vic Water and demonstrating its features.

Version 1.0 of The Vic Water iPhone app currently has 4 tabs:

	Shower Timer - Time your shower and discover exactly how many litres of water are going down the drain.  Includes a 4 minute ringing alert and “Magic” automatic shower detection.
	Water Wise Quiz - Challenge yourself and learn a bit about water consumption with this fun quiz game inspired by the Target 155 Water Wise Quiz.
	Storage Levels - Map all the victorian water storage’s in Victoria.  Zoom in to the one closest to you to see a satellite image and discover the capacity and current storage levels.  Data provided by http://www.data.vic.gov.au which is licensed under Creative Commons – Attributon 2.5 Australia
	Information - This tab shows the users the user the most up to date information about Victoria’s most precious resource.  Currently I have it showing information regarding Stage 3 water restrictions but the information displayed here can be changed to anything the publisher chooses.

I believe that Vic Water is a great candidate for the Victoria App My State competition because:

• It is useful to all Victorians that are interested in preserving our states most precious resource…WATER.  The information tab allows the publisher to publish information to the application which provides all users with the most up to date information on things like the current Victorian water restrictions which were recently changed.
• The native iPhone application itself is beautifully designed and developed with the Apple iPhone SDK in Objective C.
• The shower timer has some great innovations.  First of all, it is the only timer to count up in litres.  It also has a fantastic, almost magical, automatic shower detection setting that starts the timer when you turn the taps on and stops the timer when you turn the taps off.  This innovation gives you a very accurate timer result.
• The application is very easy to use which is why it will be released with no instructions…It just does not need any.
• I have a number of ideas to extend this application for future versions and I am excited about adding these in shortly.
• I think the application will be very appealing to all Victorians water consumers.
